Diplomate Level: Logotherapy Clinician or Logotherapy Educational Counselor

Prerequisites
- Has earned an Advanced Certificate in Logotherapy
- Educator and Counselor track: Holds at least a BA and is certified and registered in the field of social work, education or an allied helping profession. Admission is subject to the discretion of the VFI staff
- Clinical track: Holds an MA or PhD in Social Work, Psychology or Psychiatry. Documentation of relevant professional training and experience must be submitted.
Requirements for completion
- Completion of a written research project of 50 pages (Clinical track includes 10 practicum hours in the work of Viktor Frankl as seen in Logotherapy and Franklian psychology, as well as related works of other Logotherapy scholars. The Diplomate project will reflect the candidate’s area of expertise and will be relevant to the chosen area of application.)
- Oral presentation of final project at last class meeting
Course content and duration
- Intensive exploration of case studies from Logotherapy books
- Practicum: Supervised guidance in an individually-tailored research project which includes elements of both theory and practice
- Clinical track students will receive one-on-one supervision from an authorized clinically-trained Logotherapist
- Monthly online meetings for a duration of 12 months
Authorization
- Clinical track: The Diplomate clinician certificate allows licensed clinicians to incorporate Logotherapy as part of an integrative approach
- Educator/Counselor track: The Diplomate Educator/Counselor certificate allows educators and counselors to apply Logotherapy within the framework of their professional field to treat the normal problems of living where Logotherapy alone is called for and sufficient
